Principal's Monthly Message

Dear students, parents, and staff,

February is a busy month for Cesar Chavez Middle School students. We will kick off this month with exciting activities to promote college and career during national school counselors week beginning February 5th. Don't forget to join us for coffee with the principal on February 6th in the parent center. Come for the valuable information and stay for the coffee.

Responsibility is our character trait for the month of February. Watch for the chance to teach your child to be responsible through everyday situations and give specific praise for when they do demonstrate responsibility. For example, have your child get their backpack and homework ready the night before school or turn in their library book on time or help you with a chore at home.

We will begin after school intervention classes for English and mathematics, February 13th every Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3:15pm to 4:15pm. Stop by the main office to pick up an application. We also have tutoring in the library after school from 3pm to 4pm as well every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Our objective at Cesar Chavez Middle School is to provide students with the opportunity to serve, to lead, and to fulfill their potential in all spheres so that they can take their place and succeed in the 21st century. We strive for students to experience a well-rounded program that helps them harness their uniqueness and strengths.

Our students know that:
TODAY we learn to read and to write; so that TOMORROW we can be writers, lawyers, mathematicians and innovators.
TODAY we learn life skills such as, collaboration, communication, and leadership; so that TOMORROW we can be independent, successful adults.
TODAY we learn how to be kind and supportive; so that TOMORROW we can be tolerant of others.
TODAY we learn to read music and to paint masterpieces; so that TOMORROW we can be musicians and artists.
And TODAY we learn what it means to be patriotic; so that TOMORROW we can continue to serve our country with dignity and honor. “

You, as parents, are the most critical part of our school success. You take an active and crucial role in providing an atmosphere that promotes education and quality work habits. Your support provides the foundation for students to come ready to learn. I strongly encourage you to be an active part of your child’s education by making sure they get to school on time and attend school regularly. Please ensure that your child reads each and every night.

As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!

Sincerely,

Dr. Maria Pimienta
